Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-11-06

Effective date: November 6, 2026. This policy explains what information is processed when you use WarrantyBell (the "App"), our website (warranty.mint-soft.com) and our support channels, and the choices you have.

At a Glance

  • Your content stays on your device. Items, receipts, photos and documents are stored locally. We have no accounts and cannot see your data.
  • No sign-up, no profile. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the App.
  • Scanning and AI run on your device. Receipt text recognition and AI text polishing are done on the phone itself. Your receipts and text are not sent to us.
  • Anonymous diagnostics only. We collect aggregated usage statistics and crash reports to keep the App stable.
  • Ads are controllable. The free version shows ads, and advertising identifiers are used only according to your consent choices.
  • Payments are handled by the app stores. Apple and Google process purchases. We never see your card details.

1. Who We Are

MintSoft ("we", "us", "our") develops and operates WarrantyBell. We are the data controller for the limited information described in this policy.

2. Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following is saved locally on your phone and is not uploaded to our servers. We have no access to it, and deleting the App deletes it:

  • Items you add: product name, brand, category, purchase date, price, serial number, warranty and return periods, claim notes and claim history
  • Photos and documents you attach: receipts, warranty cards, serial-label photos and product photos
  • Receipt images you scan, and the text recognized from them
  • Settings, reminder preferences and the data shown in the home widget

3. Receipt Scanning and On-Device AI

Receipt scanning. When you scan a receipt, the text is recognized on your device. On iOS the App uses Apple's Vision framework. On Android the App uses Google ML Kit text recognition, with the recognition model bundled inside the App so that images are processed on the phone and are not sent to Google or to us.

ML Kit diagnostics (Android). Google states that ML Kit may collect device and app diagnostic and usage information and uses a per-installation identifier to operate and improve the service. This does not include the content of your receipts. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure.

AI text polishing. On supported iPhones, the optional claim helper can polish the wording of your claim description using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. The text is processed on the device and nothing is sent to us.

AI output reports. If you choose to report a problem with AI-generated output, the App opens your email app with a draft. Nothing is sent unless you review it and send the email yourself, and you control what it contains.

4. Information Collected Automatically

To keep the App working and understand which features matter, we and our service providers receive:

  • Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone and a randomly generated app-instance identifier
  • Usage events: which screens and features are used, including purchase-funnel events, in aggregated form
  • Crash and performance diagnostics: error messages, stack traces, device state at the time of an error and performance metrics, sent to us and to Sentry. We trim these reports and do not include the content of your items or receipts.
  • Approximate region: a coarse country- or city-level location derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Advertising identifiers: the Google Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, used by ads in the free version. On iOS, the IDFA is accessed only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Where required, a consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) lets you choose.

5. Information You Provide Voluntarily

Support requests. If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if given) and the contents of your message, including any attachments you choose to include.

Backups. The App can export a zip file or text backup of your data. The file is created on your device and handed to the share sheet you choose. We do not receive it, and you are responsible for where you store or send it.

Purchases. When you buy Pro, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We and our purchase-management provider RevenueCat receive the product identifier, transaction state and an anonymous app user ID used to restore your purchase. We never receive your payment card number or billing address.

6. Permissions

  • Camera and photo library: only to scan receipts and attach photos you choose
  • Notifications: only for the deadline reminders you turn on
  • Tracking (iOS) and advertising consent: only to decide how ads are personalized

You can change these permissions at any time in your phone settings.

7. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain and improve the App's features
  • Diagnose and fix crashes, bugs and performance problems
  • Understand, in aggregate, which features are useful
  • Show and measure advertising in the free version
  • Unlock and restore purchases you have made
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal effects.

8. Legal Bases (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): anonymous analytics, crash reporting and securing our services
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalized advertising and, on iOS, tracking permitted through App Tracking Transparency. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): delivering the Pro features you purchased

9. Third-Party Service Providers

We use a small number of providers, each bound by its own privacy policy:

We share data with these providers only as needed to operate the App. We do not share your information with data brokers.

10. Your Advertising Choices

  • iOS: when the App asks for tracking permission, choose "Ask App Not to Track". You can change this in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
  • Android: open Settings, Google, Ads to delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization.
  • Pro: removes ads from the App.

11. Data Retention

  • On-device data: under your control. Delete items in the App or uninstall the App to remove it.
  • Analytics data: retained by our providers for up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated
  • Crash diagnostics: retained for up to 90 days
  • Purchase records: kept as long as needed to honor your purchase and meet accounting obligations
  • Support correspondence: kept for up to 1 year after your request is resolved

12. Security

Data in transit is protected with industry-standard encryption (TLS). Diagnostic data is pseudonymous and stored by our providers in access-controlled environments. Because your items and receipts stay on your device, their security also depends on your device lock and your own backups. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we reduce risk by collecting as little as possible.

13. International Transfers

Our providers may process data on servers in other countries, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

14. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise a right, email app@mint-soft.com. We respond within 30 days.

Because analytics data is anonymous, we often cannot link it to you individually. In that case we will explain what we can and cannot do (GDPR Art. 11). Data stored only on your device can be deleted by you at any time.

15. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information. If the free version shows personalized ads, the use of advertising identifiers by ad partners may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out using the controls in Section 10. You also have the rights to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

16. Children

The App is not directed at children under the minimum age required in your jurisdiction (13 in the United States, 14 in the Republic of Korea, and up to 16 in some EEA countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

17. Republic of Korea (PIPA)

For users in Korea, MintSoft designates a Privacy Officer responsible for the protection of personal information:

You may request access, correction, deletion or suspension of processing at any time, and we will act without delay as required by the Personal Information Protection Act.

18. Website and Cookies

This website (warranty.mint-soft.com) is informational. It does not use advertising trackers and does not require an account. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request logs (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and secure the site.

19. Changes to This Policy

When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. For significant changes we will also provide notice inside the App where feasible.
